由于偏爱Judy Dench而选了这部电影看，但这部电影本身感动我的已经远不止Judy纯熟的演技，这是部关于老年人的电影，也是部知识分子的电影，由于出生在教师家庭，我对里面人物的性格、生活、风貌很有共鸣。Judy饰演的暮年Iris，这个形象延续了以往影片中强势女人的风格，但却更细腻的刻画了岁月带来的睿智和厚重，没有年轻时的放浪不羁。而我更偏爱的角色却是Iris的丈夫John，这个书生气十足的教授太可爱了！
智慧的远去对一个哲学家意味着什么？失去了说话，写字和思考的能力，一个知名作家的生命中还剩下什么？无常的人生残忍地拷问着Iris，那个气度优雅的学者被疾病折磨到只剩下动物般的原始狂躁和空洞，欣慰的是，在长路将尽之际，Iris找到了答案，即使她已经失去了表达的能力，那就是爱。比智慧更宽广，比病痛更强大的，是爱。看到John将走失的Iris紧紧揽入怀中，再也止不住眼眶里的泪水。爱，才是长路尽头里让人安稳入眠的光芒，驱赶了智慧退却后肆虐的黑暗。
