Like previous Fritz Lang, David Fincher, or Bong Joon Ho, talented debut filmmaker Lado Kvataniya used the concepts of detectives and serial killers to create an exciting, terrifying, and unforgettable narrative that ultimately revolves around an era: in this case, the Soviet Union in the late 1980s.
