The director of 'Sleeping Tiger' is Victor Hambury, but this is actually the pseudonym of Joseph Rossi, who was blacklisted, and this is his first British film. Alexander Knox plays Clive Esmond, a psychiatrist who believes he can stop young fugitive Frank Clements (played by Dirk Bogard) from committing crimes. For this reason, Esmond hid Clements in his own home. At first, Esmond's wife Glenda (Alexis Smith) was hostile to the handsome liar, but later she gradually became fond of her guests. Soon, she and Clements began to cast greedy eyes on each other. When Clements suddenly decided to reform, she planned to elope with Clements and create a new life for herself.
